Walking

Walk, don't run

The writer recently came across an interesting YouTube presentation on the dynamics of walking and how it affects every part of the body in a positive way. In fact, it is one of the core actions of human beings alongside breathing, eating and sleeping. The presentation is as follows:

Walking is the only exercise your body was designed for, The Feynman Way, 14 March 2026, YouTube, duration: 28.01 minutes.

Another presentation from around the same time offered a similar analysis of the importance of walking, outside of the familiar exercise paradigm.

The truth about how much you should be walking, the mindbodygreen podcast, 3 May 2026, YouTube, duration: 41.12 minutes.

Both these videos are revelatory. Why? Because, like the issue of eating eggs, the public message in recent years around walking has been mixed. The writer had recently seen a YouTube video by a medical physician - real or AI??? - which spoke of the dangers of walking.

....

However, the video presented at the top of the article is the one which most resonated with the present writer, mostly because the arguments presented therein were both understandable and logical. It was easy to see that truth was being spoken here, and the lessons to be learnt were clear and concise.
